It was my understanding that it should force any app to use the integrated gpu but apps that need the discrete gpu are still using it, like Chrome and Photos. I ended up purchasing a new Macbook Pro. They won't repair it because it's vintage. Since a lot of MacBook Pro users with NVidia graphic cards have been able to get second displays - including even analog televisions, detected with gfxCardStatus when nothing else mzcI've been asked if there is a version of gfxCardStatus or any similar utility for: It's a great computer and runs fine when it's up. Cons Switching is not working for me. I'm not too familiar with Linux but I should be able to follow directions. I installed and used gfxcardstatus, and although it helps alleviate the symptoms, it of course doesn't actually solve the problem.
Apps now work much more like regular desktop programs. Sign in Sign in Sign in corporate. Add extra desktops as required and it'll display thumbnails of each one, making it easy to identify whatever you're after and switch to it.
